ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Thursday strongly condemned cross border firing by Indian forces on Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) and condoled tragic death of Pakistani student Sabika Sheikh in US.
The House passed two resolutions unanimously.
The first Resolution called for stopping cross boarder violations and taking immediate action for settlement of financial and moral support to LoC firing victims, who were displaced as a result of the firing by Indian troops.
The Resolution also recommended that the cross border violations should be stopped as it is the violation of the commitments by both sides.
Meanwhile, in another resolution the House expressed deep dismay over the tragic shooting incident at Santa Fe High School in the United States which led to the loss of ten precious innocent young lives in and left many injured.
The resolution said : “ It mourns every life lost to this senseless violence, which also claimed the life of a young bright Pakistani Sabika Aziz Sheikh, who was attending the school as part of a year-long exchange programme.”
"It grieves with the nation and with Sabika’s family as they reel from the shock of the sudden irreparable loss of a 17 year-old child, who was among those acting as a bridge between the two nations", it added.
The House extended condolences to the bereaved family for their debilitating loss as a result of an act of violent terrorism.
