Texas shooting victim Sabika’s body to arrive home tomorrow

The body of Sabika Sheikh, a Pakistani exchange student who among the 10 people killed in school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, will arrive in Karachi on Tuesday (tomorrow).
According to local media reports, the flight carrying the deceased is en route and will reach Karachi early on Tuesday. Before sending the body home, funeral prayers of the 17-year-old deceased were held in Houstan,United States on Sunday.
The funeral was held at a mosque in suburban Houston and was attended by a large number of people. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, the American family that hosted Sabika for 10 months, Pakistan’s Consul-General Aisha Farooqui, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Al Green, Sugar Land Mayor Joe Zimmerman and Houston citizens of both American and Pakistani origin attended the funeral prayers.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi along with Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair also visited the family of Sabika in Karachi on Sunday and extended their condolences to the grieving family.
Sabika was an exchange student in the US through Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program. Sabika was supposed to return to Pakistan in less than a month.
