KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and chemical (LPG Mix) were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday, Jan. 1. Meanwhile five ships carrying cement, chemical and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 40 percent at the Port on Monday where total number of four ships namely MV. Maersk Utah, MV.Formation, MV. Perla Bulker and MV. Long Champ is currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, canola seeds and chemical respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 22,961 tonnes comprising 15,611 tonnes imports and 07,350 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1009 containers (Boxes) was handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two ships MV. Long Champ and MV. Formation carrying chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while MV. Maersk Utah of containers will sail later today.
