Balochistan killings: protesters block highway

Following the arrival of seven bodies at Karachi from Turbat, the family members of the deceased staged protest demonstration at Super Highway that caused massive gridlock at Shahrah Pakistan for hours.
According to police, the victims namely Aman, son of Khan Khat Khan, Bashir, son of Hakeem, Abdul Rahim, son of Naseeb Khan, Azmat, son of Naseeb Khan, Sheikh Salam, son of Sher Ali and Rafi, son of Farooq Khan went to Turbat for work but, unfortunately, they were murdered by unidentified armed men.
They said that Safeer Khan, a leader of Laasi and Nabeel Gabol Goths in his statement revealed that these victims, who hailed from Waziristan and came to Karachi after operations in Waziristan, were approached by the contractor namely Advocate Shah Waliullah, who took them to Turbat for construction work some one and a half years ago.
Police said the brother of Aman namely Azmat, who survived in this incident informed police that some six unidentified armed riders reached their camp on three bikes some two days ago. He said the shooters after verifying their CNICs, dragged them outside the camp and opened indiscriminate gunshots on them. Resultantly, all of them received dozens of bullets and died on spot.
Later, the residents of their respective goths staged protest demonstration at Al-Asif Square on the arrival of their bodies through Edhi ambulances that resulted massive traffic jam at Super Highway for hours. The arrival of seven bodies at Edhi Morgue from Turbat has caused erupting emotions of the residents of Laasi and Nabeel Gabol Goths, who expressed resentments over the said killings and blocked the main Super Highway for vehicular traffic for over one and a half hours.
The protesters, who shouted slogans against the law enforcement agencies, demanded the authorities to take stern measures to nab the culprits. They further said the government should also compensate their bereaved families by providing financial assistance for their unbearable losses. Later, the protesters after assurance given by the government authorities including MPA Amanullah Mehsud dispersed peacefully.
