A rally taken out in support of President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan in Badin came under gun attack on Sunday. There was no immediate report of casualties or injuries. The attack took place in Golarchi area of Badin, the home city of former Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza.
The firing incident happened at a time when PPP supporters were rallying in support of President Zardari and Home Minister Wasan in Badin. Tension and fear gripped the locality after the firing. A large number of police personnel were called in to prevent any untoward incident. Sindh MPA Muhammad Nawaz Chandio accused Mirza's supporters of firing at the rally. Taking notice of the attack, Home Minister Wasan asked DPO Badin to leave his charge.
