Indian cricketers slammed for lack of sportsmanship
Despite all the battles with the bat and ball and fierce rivalries on the field, the game of cricket is a ‘gentlemen’s game.’
One incident at the recently concluded match between Vidarbha and Delhi at the finals of Ranji Trophy, India’s biggest domestic cricket tournament raised questions on cricket being a gentleman's game, after a video uploaded on social media, where a Vidarbha batsman can be seen hit by a vicious bouncer.
After taking the hit, the batsman lies in pain pressing his rib cage, however, no one from the opposition Delhi side checked up on him, as the fielders casually moved to their positions. Only his partner, at the other end, signalled the dressing room to bring in medical help.
After the video of the incident went viral, and the opposition team was slammed for their lack of sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Vidarbha went on to win the final, claiming their first ever Ranji Trophy title.
