Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that the government is working on war footing to overcome unscheduled electricity load-shedding in the country. He said that all relevant ministries have been directed to resolve the issue of circular debt expeditiously, which would help reduce load-shedding to a great extent.
The Prime Minister was talking to the Deputy Chairman Senate and Members of the Parliament who called on him at PM's House. He said that a high-powered committee constituted by him would soon submit its recommendations to address the agonising problem in the country. He said that the government is taking measures to accelerate pace of development in the country. Development funds were being released to all the parliamentarians to complete the projects, which were people's welfare oriented. The Prime Minister urged the parliamentarians to focus on the timely completion of ongoing development projects for the benefit of the people at the grass-root level.
The parliamentarians apprised the Prime Minister about various development schemes in their respective constituencies. Those who met the Prime Minister included Deputy Chairman Senate, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, Senator Sughra Imam and MNAs Nazar M. Gondal, Javed Iqbal Warraich, Ms Ghulam Bibi Bharwana and Ms Palwasha Behram.
