Emergency has been declared in Badin district following heavy rains in the area. The local met office has so far recorded 300mm of rainfall after which army and Rangers were called in to shift the stranded people to safer places. DCO Kazim Hussain Jatoi held an emergency meeting here Thursday to review arrangements to tackle the situation.
He established an emergency centre at his office with telephone no. 0297862384 and each taluka headquarter where the officials of revenue, education and health departments will be available round the clock to monitor the rain situation.
The DCO informed the meeting that 30 relief camps have been established in three talukas including Tando Bago, Badin and Shaheed Fazil Rahoo at Seerani, Bhugra Memon, Ahmed Rajo, Kadhan, Luarisharif and Pangrio and various teams have been sent along-with transport to the coast belt for rescue operation and providing relief to the rain affected people.
