European Union provides Euro 9.6 million for HR promotion

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and European Union Friday signed Grant Financing Agreement on Promotion of Human Rights in Pakistan amounting to Euro 9.6 million.

The agreement will support the continued efforts of the government of Pakistan for the Promotion of Human Rights.

The agreement also envisages enhancing the capacity of the Federal and Provincial Institutions.

It would also promote and create awareness in the area of Human Rights in collaboration with Ministry of Human Rights.

Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, Arif Ahmed Khan and European Union Deputy Head of Mission to Pakistan, Ms Anne Marchal signed the agreement on behalf of government of Pakistan and European Union respectively.
