Following successful meeting between the Union Central President Mian Abdul Qayyum with Chief Management FBR, Haroon Khan Tareen here Friday, Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union has called off strike against freezing of 'special pay allowance'.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Chief Co-ordinator of the Union Rashid Shah said that due to heavy engagements of the FBR Chairman Salman Siddiq, he could not meet the delegation. However, tax authorities nominated Chief Management FBR Haroon Khan Tareen to discuss issues including giving of special pay package with the association.
During meeting, when the CBA Union leaders were asked to call off the strike, they pleaded that they would withdraw the strike call if they were given written assurance pertaining to the regularisation of the FBR Employees Special Allowance on which Haroon Khan Tareen pledged that within next one or two days letter would be sent to Ministry of Finance in this regard. Moreover, when they talked about the charter of demand, FBR Chief assured the Union leaders that FBR officials are already working on many of its clauses, besides assuring complete co-operation of the department on which the Union leaders also promised of their all-out support and called off the scheduled strike. Federal Revenue Allowance Employees Union CBA announced strike after a week against the alleged freezing of FBR employees' special allowance.
