Punjab Assembly Secretariat: resolution against homosexuality submitted
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) party recently has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly Secretariat against promotion of homosexuality in the country. Punjab Assembly, MPA Amna Ulfat, in her resolution cited a recent function in US Embassy in Islamabad where it supported winning rights for people involved in such activities in Pakistan.
The resolution pointed that neither Islam nor the law of the land and social norms had any room for homosexuality. The resolution called upon the Punjab government to inform the federation of the sentiments of the masses on this issue and play its role to curb such activities in future. Punjab MPA's resolution regretted the US embassy attitude on the issue.
Meanwhile, PML-Q MPA Khadija Umar has submitted an adjournment motion in the assembly, urging upon the speaker to take notice of a news item about dysfunctional scanners at the assembly building. The MPA, in her motion mentioning of the threat of terrorism, pointed that an inquiry be conducted to fix responsibility in this serious matter.
Meanwhile, Punjab Assembly that has been requisitioned recently by the opposition benches is likely to hold its session tentative by 24th of this month. The assembly that was requisitioned by opposition legislators on Monday is liable to hold its session within fourteen days of presentation of the requisition.
