ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Monday said that the government has formulated effective strategy to deal with the menace of terrorism in the country.

While giving assurance to the Nation Assembly to control incidents like Quetta Church attack, the minister renewed government‘s commitment to standing unified against any attempt to disrupt religious harmony.

He said the country’s constitution fully protects the rights of the minorities and the government will ensure protection of their rights. He strongly condemned the deadly attack on Methodist Church in Quetta which claimed loss of precious lives and left several injured. He expressed solidarity with the family members of those who lost their loved ones.

He said that best possible medical treatment was being provided to the injured persons of the Church attack. He added that the whole nation was united in fight against terrorism.

He said that country’s people particularly security forces were striving hard to protect the motherland from the nefarious designs of terrorists and vanishing them completely.

Earlier, participating in the discussion, minority member Lal Chand urged to effectively implement plan against terrorism and take concrete steps to ensure the proparators are brought to justice and such incidents could be prevented in future.

MNA Khalil Gorge said that the issue of terrorism was facing by the country since long and urged the government to ensure security of all Churches functioning in the country.

He appreciated the timely action of security forces that resulted protection of several precious lives during attack.

MNA Sanjey Parvani strongly condemned the attack on Church in Quetta and added that it was a source of satisfaction that country’s security forces were fully alive to deal with any untoward situation.

MNA Ramesh Kumar said that there should be a separate security plan for protection of religious places of minorities in the country. MNA Abdul Sattar Bachani said that there was India’s involvement in many recent terrorist incidents. MNA Nassema Hafeez Panezai strongly condemned the Church attack on behalf of her party.

MNA Ijaz Jakharani strongly condemning the Church attack said that some anti-state elements were trying to damage the image of the country by giving this impression that religious places of minorities were not safe in Pakistan.   MNA Aasia Nasir said that concrete steps should be taken to avoid from such incidents in future. She said that it was a high time to fully implement National Action Plan in true spirit.

She said that despite such incidents of terrorism the whole nation was united with same voice against any form of terrorism.

MNA Usman Badeni appreciated the quick and timely response of Balochistan Police during attack on Church.

He urged for timely compensation to the victims of Quetta Church attack.
