A Turkish delegation led by chairman Great Union Party Yanlcin Topcu met Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday. Bilateral relations and matters of common interest were discussed in the meeting. Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Members Provincial Assembly Kh. Salman Rafiq, Mohsin Latif, Vice Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Secretary Planning and Development and Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the Turkish delegation, the Chief Minister said that Turkey was a brotherly Islamic country and there were deep-rooted cultural and historic relations between Pakistan and Turkey. He said that Turkey was a sincere friend of Pakistan and had helped it in every hour of need. He said that government and people of Turkey extended generous help and assistance to the flood affectees in Pakistan.
He said that people of both the countries were bound together in strong ties of love and brotherhood. He said that the wholehearted support to the flood victims of Pakistan was a proof of the love of the government and people of Turkey for their Pakistani brethren. He said that welfare organisations of Turkey were still engaged in various rehabilitation project in the flood affected areas. He said that a number of agreements had been signed between Punjab government and Turkey in various sectors and the co-operation of Istanbul Municipality regarding solid waste management was highly welcome.
Chairman Great Union Party Yanlcin Topcu said that he was very happy to visit Pakistan, as it was the second home to Turkish people. He said that people of Pakistan and Turkey were bound together in strong fraternal ties, which would strengthen with the passage of time.
