Pakistan People's Party (PPP)'s AJK Chief and leader of opposition in AJK Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has strongly condemned the 'irresponsible' statement of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ch. Nisar Ali Khan in which he allegedly criticised the agencies.
"No patriot can even think of criticising the valiant armed forces and country's premier intelligence agency as both are custodian of the ideological and geographical frontiers of the country," he said while addressing a news conference at Kashmir Press Club, here on Sunday. He added that such a statement of the PML-N leader is tantamount to harming national integrity and solidarity.
Majeed said the PPP is a symbol of solidarity, integrity and federation of Pakistan. PPP-led coalition government is sincerely acting upon the policy of reconciliation under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari to maintain cohesion among all sections of the society.
Referring to the forthcoming general elections in the state, he said these would be of paramount importance in view of the existing global scenario, which is demanding early peaceful settlement of Kashmir problem. For an early peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute, United Nations resolutions should be implemented without delay. "To achieve the task in line with the aspirations of the Jammu Kashmir people, free and fair plebiscite across the disputed Himalayan State should immediately be managed by the United Nations," he maintained. He said there has always been an unequivocal stance of PPP that the occupied Jammu Kashmir should be liberated from Indian yoke and the entire state becomes an invincible part of Pakistan.
