Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 90,017 tonnes of cargo including 59,371 tonnes of import cargo, 30,646 tonnes of export cargo, 5,938 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 59,371 tonnes comprised of 12,999 tonnes of containerised cargo; 474 tonnes of general cargo and 45,898 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,646 tonnes comprised of 17,594 tonnes of containerised cargo; 835 tonnes of general cargo; 12,217 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,658 tonnes of wheat; 7,195 tonnes of rice and 1,364 tonnes of cement. Six ships namely MT Quetta, Cap Gabriel, Glory, Bux Melody, Abtin-1 and APL Japan with crude oil and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Al-Shuwaikh, Unico Anna, CSL Ride, Glory, Nam A 08, Fatima-1 and Iron Butterfly carrying cattle, wheat, containers, sulphur, cement and project cargo respectively are currently at the berths. One ship namely Sargodha for repair expected to sail on Friday, while four ships namely Usma, Iron Butterfly, Nadeem and CSL Ride with petrol, general cargo, cement and containers respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four vessels viz BW Yangtze, Greenwich Bridge, APL Sokhna and Ital Oceano carrying jet oil and containers respectively due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz Royal Jasper, Sorrelle, Lodestar Genesis, Arnis, TS Dubai, Cape Manuel and Ocean Island with oil tankers, containers and coal respectively are due to arrive on Saturday. Five ships namely Abadeh, APL Shenzhen, Brich-1, Patton-1 and Mega Ace carrying crude oil, containers, steel coil, general cargo and wheat respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 99,712 tonnes of cargo includes 83,784 tonnes of import cargo and 15,928 tonnes of export cargo, 2,633 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 83,784 tonnes includes 35,297 tonnes of diesel oil; 1,000 tonnes of edible oil; 3,760 tonnes of sugar; 16,592 tonnes of canola seeds and 27,135 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 15,928 tonnes includes 1,288 tonnes of rice; 4,752 tonnes of cement and 9,888 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV APL Chile, CV MSC Rafaela and MV Kimon-A sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely MT Al-Salam-II and MT Trans Ocean are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz CV APL Chile, CV MSC Rafaela, CV Saf Marine Cunen, MV Kimon-A, MV Alexi-1, MV Trans Ocean, MV Island Star, MV Sea Venus, MT Galaxy, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Mal Pensa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, canola seeds, sugar, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely STX Rose, Sigloo Hav, Sea Hope, My Antarctic, Jang San and Bright Eagle carrying project cargo, chemicals, fuel oil, palm oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz MV Jang San, MT Sea Hope and MT Sigloo Hav scheduled to load/offload rice, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3), FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday. Two container ships namely CV MSC Anafi and CV Angeles are due to arrive on Saturday.
