Chairman, Skill Development Council (SDC), Mian Akram Farid has stressed the need of providing necessary financial resources to the council by the government for extension of their activities as the industry is facing a shortage of skilled workers. The plea was made in a meeting held, here on Friday, which was attended by DG, National Training Bureau (NTB) Razia Zuberi and chairmen of four SDCs in the country.
At the meeting, Farid emphasised on eradication of institutions involved in the sale of fake certificates and diplomas, adding that only NTB and ministry of labour could take action against them. He said that the councils are trying their level best to fulfil the training needs of the industry, but are handicapped on account of limited financial resources. The meeting finalised names for boards of directors of the councils.-PR
