Iranian and Pakistani varsities can collaborate in areas like veterinary sciences, animal production and technology and poultry sciences through student exchanges to strengthen cordial relation between the two nations. This was stated by Fahim Research Institute of Iran's representative Dr Hashang Dadashzadeh, heading a three-member delegation which met Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz on Friday.
Dr Dadashzadeh informed the VC that Iranian students are willing to take admission in the under-graduate and postgraduate degree programmes of UVAS. He discussed areas of mutual co-operation to enhance academic and technological partnership. He stressed that both Muslim countries should benefit from each other's expertise and research experience in animal husbandry.
Earlier, Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz briefed the delegation about the chronicle of veterinary school that has now become country's prestigious university. He said the institution has been imparting quality veterinary professional education in Lahore for the last 129 years.
He said that UVAS is plying its effective role in the livestock sector to boost national economy. Dr Nawaz further said that the varsity has developed research collaboration and signed 25 MoUs with many international and national institutions to upgrade its standard of education. They university is making untiring efforts to provide quality education, he added.
