On the directives of newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, the Rescue 15 has been reinforced with additional patrolling cars and motorcycles to enhance the vigilance. Wajid Ali Durrani, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has directed all the wings of the Federal Police to ensure a foolproof security in the capital to avoid any criminal or terrorist activity in this area, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Friday.
He said that under the instructions from its new chief, Islamabad Police have decided to enhance security measures at the entry and exit points of the city to strengthen the security apparatus. Rescue 15 has been provided more mobile vehicles raising the total strength of patrolling cars in the Rescue 15 to 22. A total of 50 motorcycles have been provided for security duties at various markets, public places and important locations for ensuing comprehensive security in the city, the spokesman said.
Police high command is also looking to erect more checking and search posts at the exit points of the Federal Capital to keep a check on criminal elements and apprehend those who managed to sneak away from Islamabad after committing crimes.
