Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz has said that the provincial government has taken many steps to provide full protection to working women at their work places. She further said that intensive consultations and policy formulation process were underway particularly to address issues of lady doctors, nurses and other paramedical female staff.
She was speaking briefly at a function organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Foundation in honour of the Gold Medalist Graduates of Khyber Medical University on Thursday. The Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali was the chief guest on the occasion while the President of Awami National Party, Afrasiab Khattak, Provincial Minister for Health, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, MPAs, Munawar Sultana and Yasmin Zia, Director General Health Dr Umar Ayub and other high ups of the Provincial Health Department, Principals of the Medical Colleges and other guests attended the function.
Ayaz while appreciating the Health Foundation gesture to formally recognise the competency of the brilliant medical graduates of the university remarked that the prevailing law and order situation was one of the major impediments for holding such purposeful and healthy functions. She, however, said that the government was giving top priority to restore peace in the province.
She also urged the doctors who were working abroad to return to their country and serve the needy and ailing humanity of their homeland. Later, the chief guest along with ANP President and the Provincial Ministers gave away certificates and shields to the Gold Medallists.
