Senior Minister Punjab Raja Riaz Ahmed has put forward a 19-point agenda to Nawaz Sharif, asking for removal of corrupt provincial ministers and an end to the formation of a forward bloc in the provincial assembly, besides other demands. He said his 19-point agenda at a press conference held at his residence, attended by the PPP ministers in the Punjab Cabinet.
He said the people of Punjab were not happy with the performance of coalition government in the province. Therefore, I have sent him a letter of demands in line with the spirit of the Charter of Democracy. The Punjab Senior Minister alleged that the PML-N has changed the departments of its former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa on corruption charges. Further, he added, the chief minister has also changed other ministers on corruption allegations.
He said the PPP ministers in the Punjab cabinet would keep highlighting the public issues. However, he made clear that no deadline is being set for implementation on the demands, but the PPP has kept all options open including separation from the government. According to him, Zulfiqar Ali Gondal would replace prime minister's son as chairman Public Accounts Committee.
Punjab Minister for Manpower Ashraf Khan termed the formation of forward bloc in the Punjab assembly a violation of 18th amendment. He urged the PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the support from the Punjab chief minister of this bloc.
