Newly-wed Sagarika and Zaheer Khan look ravishing in wedding photos

Bollywood’s love birds Sagarika Ghatge and her long time boyfriend Zaheer Khan, who is cricketer, finally tied the knot on Thursday.

Sagrika’s co-actress, Vidya from her movie ‘Chak De India’, announced the big news through her twitter account that the couple was getting married today. The newly-weds look stunning together in the first few pictures of from their big day.

Vidya also shared a few pictures of the bride-to-be at her supposed bridal shower and also shared the wedding card. The couple, however, reportedly had a court marriage today, which will be followed by a mehendi-cocktail party in the evening and a grand reception on Sunday.

The duo chose to wear simple dresses for their wedding day. Zaheer dressed up in an elegant and light pink colored traditional kurta, while Sagrika wore a red conventional sari with minimal. The couple got engaged earlier in April after Zaheer proposed to Sagrika in a dreamy surprise proposal.

Considering it’s an inter-religious marriage, Zaheer was asked after their engagement whether they faced any issues in convincing each other’s families. He said, “Both our families are evolved enough to understand that it’s about marrying the right person over marrying into the same religion. It’s important to be a good human being.”

Sagarika too seconded his thoughts and said, “My parents are also open-minded and their primary concern was that I marry the right person. I am sure they may have had their apprehensions but after meeting him, it cleared a lot of things for them. He is perfect,” Bollywood Life quoted the couple saying.
