Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has greeted Changez Khan Jamali on being elected unopposed as PPP MNA from NA-266. The Jaffarabad, Nasirabad seat had fallen vacant following the demise of Taj Muhammad Jamli, father of Changez Khan Jamali. The PM appreciated sagacity and farsightedness of political leaders and people of Balochistan for electing Changez unopposed.
He said withdrawal of others candidates in favour of Changez leading to his unopposed election is reflective of political reconciliation, which PPP is promoting as per mission of late Benazir Bhutto to strengthen political harmony and national unity. He had personally gone to Nasiarabad to give PPP's ticket for the seat to Changez.
It may be mentioned that 27 candidates had already withdrawn their papers in favour of Changez, while Nazir Ahmad Khosa of National Party also withdrew his paper, after successful negotiations between the former PM, Mir Zafaraullah Khan Jamali, National Party President, Senator Dr Abudl Malik Baloch and Senior Vice President, Mir Hasil Bizenjo.
