SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.62 percent in morning trade Tuesday, tracking slumps in overseas markets on worries over the US budget deficit and Europe's debt crisis, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 15.00 points at 2,400.13.
