shah-mahmodd-qureshi_ISLAMABAD: Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday announced his resignation from PPP and National Assembly and said he would announce his next political future on November 27, 2011 at public meeting in Ghotki, Sindh.

Announcing his resignation from PPP and National Assembly at a news conference here this evening, former Foreign Minister, he urged those feeling pain for the country as well as opposition members to do same and start struggle for fresh elections in the country under Independent Election Commission.

"I am quitting my two decades long association with PPP due to bad governance and corruption of President Asif Ali Zardari." He said he wanted to announce his resignation in National Assembly session today but was not allowed to speak.

"The parliament failed to get its consensus resolutions implemented," he contended. "Now PPP is not of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. It is Zardari League. Zardari had buried politics of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and betrayed her vision," he asserted.

He strongly opposed PPP alliance with PML-Q and said it is against Charter of Democracy. He said PPP government failed to revive economy, eradicate poverty, unemployment and inflation. Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani talks too much about rights of Southern Punjab. I question why entire Saraiki belt is protesting?" Shah Mahmood Qureshi said billions and billions of rupees were wasted by giving bail out packages to Railways, Pakistan Steel, PIA & WAPDA.
