LAHORE: Farmers Associates Pakistan (FAP) president Dr Muhammad Tariq Bucha has demanded the government to announce the support price of wheat within 7 to 10 days keeping in view production cost so that they could sow more wheat crop for bumper yield.
Talking to APP on Sunday, he advocated for enhancing the wheat support price due to hike in prices of agriculture inputs.
He said if agriculture policies were not timely reviewed in the interest of agriculture sector then there was a possibility of 15-20 percent less production next year in Punjab.
He said that 6 million tons of wheat was lying in stock and the government should take solid steps to use this wheat as soon as possible so that upcoming production could be utilized in a better way.
