KP Govt frames Mineral Governance Act 2016

PESHAWAR: The Minerals Development Department KP has framed Minerals Sector Governance Act 2016 to make procedure of receiving applications and its award through a transparent manner besides attracting maximum Investors to invest in mineral sector.

The procedure of online applications has been introduced to provide equal opportunities to the investors in the minerals sector and discourage nepotism, favoritism and discrimination.

The Minerals Development Department statement issued here said applications for the grant of various categories of minerals titles have been invited through press from 10th May 2017 and will continue till further orders.

The hard copies of online applications as per requirement under the law shall be submitted to Investment Facilitation Desk (IFD) established at the Directorate General Mines and Minerals during the working hours.

Such applications shall be dully scrutinized and processed by the Regional Offices of the Department in time bound manner and would be disposed of by the Minerals Titles Committee (MTC) purely on merit and strictly in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minerals Sector Governance Act 2016 and rules there under.
