February witnesses 14.6pc decline in mobile phone imports

ISLAMABAD: The mobile phones import in the country has reached US $ 60.02 million during February this year, showing 14.6 percent decline as compared to previous month.

The mobile phone imports had been valued at US $ 70.17 million during month of January.

A data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Saturday showed in July-February period of current fiscal year, the total value of mobile phone imports was US $ 459.37 million, the figure had stood at US $ 497.2 million in corresponding period of previous fiscal year. This represents a decline of 7.61 percent in mobile phone imports in the country.
