LAHORE: The USAID in collaboration with Lesco has initiated an aspiring programme to replace old and inefficient agriculture tube wells with energy efficient ones which are subsidized (50 percent) by the US.
In this regard, Lesco has established a special counter in its regional Customer Services Centre to provide information and directions to agriculture consumers.
Applications from agriculturists intending to charge their old and inefficient tube wells, will be received at this counter.
According to USAID, tube-wells installed in Pakistan have become old and are working with only 30% efficiency.
The Agriculturists could change their old and inefficient tube well pumps and motors by paying half of the cost under this programme. USAID will bear the remaining share of 50%.
