Pakistan opener Azhar Ali went on to record his 12th Test century against the Aussies at the MCG, this was Azhars first ton in Australia and the third overall against the hosts.
However, it was not all smooth sailing for Azhar as he was marching towards the three figures, as he too became a victim of the infamous nervous nineties, which became frighteningly real for Azhar Ali no thanks to a blooper by the electronic scoreboard operator at the MCG.
The incident occurred when Azhar on 93 had a close dive at the non strikers end after a drive down the ground from Asad Shafiq, the decision went upstairs for a review by the third umpire.
Replays showed Azhar was safely home, but the scoreboard incorrectly declared him out, much to the delight of the Australian crowd.
"Change that to not out, quick," Nine commentator Michael Slater said. "Only two buttons to press, he got the wrong one."
"What are you doing?" added co-commentator Waqar Younis.
Fortunately, it was just an error and Azhar went on to score his first century on the Australian soil, but it was one heart pouncing moment of the rain marred day.
