Social media rages over Saif-Kareena's baby name

He was barely few hours old when he became the next big thing in India. Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoors new born who they named Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi became topic of debate on different social media networks.

The name given to the star couple's son was trending on social media platforms as Taimur was the founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia and had invaded India in 1398. Many believe that Taimur, known as Tamerlane in the West, killed thousands in India during its conquests.

Indian Twitter users have been busy since then, debating and arguing if the couple was right to name their son after a controversial person.

However, Kareena Kapoor Khan's uncle Rishi Kapoor, in a series of tweets, has lashed out on those who have commented on the name given by Kareena and Saif Ali Khan to their son. He says that it is no one's business to comment on their decision.

Apart from the history, the name also means brave king and strong like iron.
