KARACHI: Three ships C.V Al-Rawadah, M.V An African and M.T Al-Rekayyat scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday.
Meanwhile three more ships Maersk Chicago, MSC Tomoko and Atlanic Glory with containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at sixty percent on Monday where a total of nine ships namely Al-Rawadah, MSC Joanna, An African, Da Hua, Infinity, Argent Freesia, Al-Rekyyat Shan Song Zihe and Eagle Phoenix are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seeds, chemicals, LNG, palm oil and crude oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 97,238 tonnes, comprising 52,221 tonnes import cargo and 45,017 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 993 containers TEUs) 459 imports TUEs & 535 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Two containers ships MSC Joanna and Al-Rawadah sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
Two ships C.V MSC Tokomo and Maersk Chicago carrying containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Tuesday, while an other containers ship Maersk Surabaya is due to arrive at PQ on Wednesday.
