KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he was taking personal interest in the development of each and every district of the province and no district would be left undeveloped.
This he said while talking to PPP MPAs, Imtiaz Shaikh, Sajid Jokhio, Murtaza Baloch and Chairman District Council Karachi Salman Murad here at the CM House on Wednesday, said a statement.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that the drainage system of Shikarpur is completely dilapidated.
The gutters were gushing out, sewerage water flowing onto the streets, therefore most of the streets have turned into a pool of stagnant water, he added.
The CM Sindh said that he has personally visited Shikarpur city and its condition is quite deplorable.
"I would visit the city very soon and give you drainage schemes and other development works so that the city could be made neat and clean," he said.
He directed him to work to get all kind of encroachments removed from the city. `This becomes the responsibility of the elected representatives to play their roles for betterment,' he suggested.
Talking to MPA Sajjid Jokhio, Murtaza Baloch and Chairman District Council Salman Murad, the chief minister said that the main road from airport to Quaidabad and Steel Town was being reconstructed and the water supply and drainage lines are being replaced.
This would help smooth flow of traffic on this important road, he said.
He also said that the development and encroachment issues of Malir district would also be addressed properly.
The district council must identify the issues and give its suggestion and also play its due role in the uplift of rural Karachi. He assured all out support in this regard.
