HYDERABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the provincial government was initiating educational reforms with objective to bring fruitful results towards quality education to future generation of the province.
The Chief Minister expressed these remarks while speaking as chief guest at the 55th Annual Parents' Day ceremony of Cadet College Petaro near Jamshoro on Tuesday.
He said that improvement in education system was one of the priorities of the provincial government and in this direction all hurdles were being removed with effective reforms so that quality education could be ensured in the educational institutions of the province.
Besides allocating a huge amount, he said a number of development projects have been initiated in the educational sector with teachers training programme so that the future generation of the province could meet the challenges while shouldering responsibility of nation building in future.
The Chief Minister highly praised the efforts of Cadet College Petaro adding that the college always showed remarkable performance in providing knowledge to learners with best available infrastructure, facilities, faculty and the educational atmosphere.
The Cadet College Petaro has the record of producing men of calibres who acknowledged themselves both at national and international levels, he said and added that former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari also passed out from this one of the best educational institution of the country.
The Chief Minister on the occasion announced a grant of Rs. 141.6 million for Cadet College Petaro of which Rs. 40 would be spent for setting up the language laboratory, Rs. 1.6 million for employees welfare while Rs. 100 million for development schemes of the college. He also announced two new buses for the college.
The Chief Minister later awarded shields and cash rewards among those cadets who exhibited outstanding performance during their educational calendar.
Besides visiting the scientific exhibition, the Chief Minister also took salute of the march past of the cadets and witnessed the physical training display, karate and horse riding.
The Principal Cadet College Petaro Commodore Mehboob Elahi in his welcome address presented the annual performance of the college as well as achievements of the cadets in curricular and extracurricular activities.
Among others, MNA Malik Asad Sikandar, Rear Admiral Farukh Ahmed, Commissioner Hyderabad Qazi Shahid Pervez and DIG Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind were also present on the occasion.
