KARACHI: The 12th Build Asia 2016 International Building and Construction Industry Exhibition, incorporating stonefair Asia and Furniture Asia, was inaugurated by Karachi City Mayor Wasim Akhtar here on Tuesday.
Two hundred and fifty foreign delegates from 17 countries are scheduled to visit the three-day exhibition at Karachi Expo Centre, said a press release here.
Build Asia exhibition is a platform for local and international  companies to discuss collaborations, joint ventures, investments and other possible avenues.
The objective of 12th Build Asia 2016 is value-addition to the marble cutting, tools and construction machineries to increase productivity.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Karachi mayor said that Build Asia is showcasing over 250 brands at 300 booths.
He said, "It is a pleasure to see 250 foreign delegates from 17 countries, including China, UAE, Iran, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Turkey at the exhibition.
This will send a positive image of Karachi to the whole world."
With the implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan will get more international exposure and confidence of international investors.
China as the country partner for 12th Build Asia is using this platform to demonstrate best practices and innovation which will boost economic diversification, while encouraging foreign direct investment.
Build Asia is displaying products from different exhibiting companies including construction machinery and material, steel products, PVC products, cement, marble products, machinery and furniture.
The event has been organised by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan and has active support from Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) and All Karachi Marble Industries Association (AKMIA).
