PCB have been exposed: Aamer Sohail

Published November 21, 2016 Updated November 21, 2016 09:34am

imageISLAMABAD: Former captain Aamer Sohail believes failing to find skipper Misbah-ul-Haq's successor has exposed the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) weak spots.

Aamer who captained Pakistan in six Tests in 1998, becoming the first Pakistani captain to defeat South Africa in a Test Match, said for so long Misbah has been hinting about his retirement but still the PCB has failed to find one which is the lack of ability in the selection committee.

"It shows the PCB people are only enjoying perks and have done no homework on Misbah's replacement," he said while talking on Private News Channel.

He said he fears that after Misbah and Younis's retirement what will be left in the Pakistan Test team. Speaking about the Pakistan-New Zealand first test, he said

Pakistani batsman should address their batting. "They should see the batting videos of former great Javed Miandad and learn from it," he said.

He pointed that the batsmen comes to the front foot even before the ball is delivered which is a flaw in their batting.

He urged the Pakistani batsmen to learn strokes from Sohail Khan who hit 40 in the second innings of the first test against New Zealand.

He said Misbah will be missed in the second test against New Zealand to be played at Hamilton on November 25.

"Younis will be a very crucial player in the second test and he should play at his number," he said.

Another former captain Javed Miandad said it does not matter whether the team wins or lose we should play positive cricket.

He said New Zealand and Australia play fast cricket which we lack. "New Zealand planned it all and then dismissed out batsman. They had done their homework on us," he said.

But he mentioned that Misbah absence will be missed in the second test against New Zealand.
