MUMBAI: England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to bat in the fourth one-day international against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
India, enjoying a decisive 3-0 lead in the five-match series, brought in uncapped 21-year-old fast bowler Varun Aaron in place of the injured Umesh Yadav.
The tourists, hoping to finish the last two games on a high, turned to two rookies, leg-spinner Scott Borthwick, 21, and 22-year-old fast bowler Stuart Meaker.
They replace off-spinner Graeme Swann and seamer Jade Dernbach.
India return to the Wankhede Stadium for the first time since winning the World Cup final against Sri Lanka in April.
