soyaBUENOS AIRES: Argentina closing soy prices and trends on Friday.

Soy prices in Rosario ended at between 1,255 pesos and 1,300 pesos per tonne ($281-$291), boosted by demand from some firms for the oilseed, traders said.

Soy closed at between 1,255 and 1,270 pesos per tonne in the previous session.

Trade volume rose to a light 3,000 tonnes from practically nil in the previous session.

Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade fell on Friday as traders liquidated long positions amid uncertainty ahead of the European Union debt-crisis summit this weekend, traders said.

Soybeans for May 2012 delivery, priced in US dollars, were not traded in Rosario on Friday. They closed at $290 per tonne a day earlier.

In the the southern port of Quequen, soy closed down 10 pesos at 1,240 pesos per tonne, while in Bahia Blanca, the oilseed closed flat at 1,245 pesos per tonne.
