LONDON: Gold prices rose 1 percent on Wednesday as the euro climbed to a three-week high against the dollar, and after the Slovak parliament's rejection of a plan to expand the bloc's rescue fund stoked concerns over the euro zone debt crisis.
Spot gold was up 0.9 percent at $1,680.70 an ounce at 0840 GMT, having touched a high of $1,681.70.
