ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the Ministry of Petroleum and Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in applications of advocate Kokab Iqbal who has challenged the recent increase in price of petroleum products.
Single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan conducted hearing of the application.
Kowkab Iqbal Petitioner apprised the court that the petroleum has a direct link with inflation so increase in the petroleum prices would affect the cost of everything. That would make life of an ordinary person more miserable, the petitioner also maintained.
He said that rise in the petroleum prices would also affect the cost of electricity that would be another burden on the people.
The court issued notices to the respondents and adjourned hearing till date in office.
