Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Three ships Maersk Kolkata, Al- Farahidi and Golden Ambrosia carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday, September 27.
Meanwhile five more ships M.V Alexi-I, Masaieed, Remi, Acena and Kind Seas scheduled to load/offload cement, furnace oil, iron ore and coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday, September 28.
Berth occupancy remained at 71 percent at the Port on Tuesday where a total of seven ships namely C.V MSC Anafi, Maersk Kolkata, Al Farahidi, M.V Orient III, M.V Vine Line Sky, Golden Ambrosia and M.T Baltic are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 1,13,223 tonnes, comprising 69,632 tonnes imports and 43,591 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,190 containers (Boxes) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three containers ships Maersk Kolkata, Al Farahidi and MSC Anafi sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while a furnace oil ship will sail later today.
