Present storage in Hub Dam to help cater two year water need of city
KARACHI: The Hub Dam has attained a water level of 325 feet after an addition of 28 feet of water due to recent heavy rains, which would help cater to the need of Karachi for the next two years, said Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) here on Wednesday evening.
The KW&SB has termed the increase in water level of Hub Dam as a good news for Karachi and said the present storage in the Dam would be enough for the next two years for the metropolis.
It said the Hub Dam supplies 100 million gallons water per day to Karachi.
The Water Board said the upper most level of Hub Dam is 339-feet while after addition of 28 feet, only 14 feet are left for the Dam to reach its full capacity.
It is expected that the Hub Dam would reach its full capacity of 339 feet in the recent spell of heavy monsoon rains.
