South Korean shares end 3.78pc higher
SEOUL: South Korean shares closed 3.78 percent higher Wednesday, a strong rebound after suffering heavy selling in the previous three sessions.
The benchmark KOSPI jumped 66.75 points at 1,833.46 as investors went bargain hunting after the main stock bourse had lost more than five percent in the past three days.
Major technology shares fared well on expectations that DRAM chip prices would soon bottom out and an upcoming launch of iPhone 5 will fan demand for device components from Apple's Asian suppliers.
Samsung Electronics, the nation's largest company by value, jumped 6.33 percent and LG Electronics surged 9.14 percent.
