LONDON: Europe's main stock markets were steady at the start of trading on Tuesday following sharp losses a day earlier.
London's FTSE 100 index of top shares edged up 0.12 percent to 5,108.40 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index rose 0.53 percent to 5,273.67 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dipped 0.04 percent to 2,998.29.
