PM slashes power cost by Rs2.19 per unit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday announced reduction in prices of electricity by Rs2.19 per unit.

"The government will continue to pass on the benefits to the consumers on efficiencies and lowering oil prices," the Prime Minister said in a meeting held here at PM Office.

The Prime Minister said the reduction in prices would be reflected in the electricity bills of non-subsidy consumers in the coming months.

He also announced cut in price for the month of June and July 2015 by Rs 2.14.
