 KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where two ships carrying containers berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal on Wednesday, August 17.

Meanwhile five more ships carrying containers, chemicals and iron ore also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 55 percent on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely CGM Strauss, Libra Copa Cabana, M.V Tyooon II, M.V Afamia, M.V New Sun, M.T Gem of Dahej and M.T Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a volume of 62,645 tonnes, comprising 46,941 tonnes imports and 15,704 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,427 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V Libra Copacabana, M.T Gem of Dahej and M.T Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships CGM Strauss, M.V New Sun, and Izumo are expected to sail later on same day.
