ISLAMABAD: In Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), people took to the streets in downtown areas of Indian occupied Srinagar on Sunday and staged anti-India demonstrations to protest the arrest of over fifteen youth by Indian police.
The protesters raising pro-freedom slogans demanded immediate release of the youth, Kashmir Media Service reported.
A youth from Nowhatta told mediamen that at midnight, the police and CRPF men barged into his house and were looking for him. "I was not there. The policemen had shouted at and misbehaved with my family members," he said.
He said that later, they picked up his brother. "The police asked the family they would release him only in exchange of me. He is lodged in a police station," he added.
A police officer from downtown confirmed that they conducted midnight raids in Nowhatta, Habbakadal, Basantbagh and Maharajganj areas.
