PPP following Quaid's vision of equality among communities

kamal-azfarISLAMABAD: Former governor Sindh, Kamal Azfar said that Pakistan People's Party is following the vision of Quaid- e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah about statehood of Pakistan, where all citizens of the country should enjoy equal rights.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said creating and promoting the equality among all communities of the country was also an important segment of the last manifesto of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

He said during his tenure as the governor, he used to celebrate religious holidays of all Pakistani communities in governor house for the demonstration of solidarity with them.

President Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jahangir has said that the address of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on August 11, 1947, has great significance in present scenario of the country.

She said the address of founder of Pakistan gives us fundamental principles as to how we should treat our religious minorities.

She said all communities of the country have equal rights as Pakistanis.

She said "it is the time to reaffirm our pledge that we will treat our religious minorities on equal basis in the light of Quaid- e-Azam's guidelines".
