topPESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakthunkhwa government has accelerated pace of development in remote Shangla district as uplift projects worth Rs.170millions are underway in diversified fields.

Former candidate for National Assembly and ANP leader, Sadeedur Rehman told reporters that Chief Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa was taking keen interest in Shangla's development and under CM's special fund, work on various uplift projects pertaining to electricity and communication's infrastructure worth Rs.170million are underway, which after completion would change peoples' destiny.

In the past, he said, Shangla was overlooked for development as result of which problems of masses were increased manifolds.

When the incumbent government took over, he said, high priority was accorded for development of Shangla by initiating work on roads, bridges' construction, electricity, education and health sector.

Out of Rs.170 million, he said, Rs 100 million are being spent on energy related projects and Rs.70million for water, sanitation, construction of communication infrastructure in Shangla.

He said work on Kana bridges costing Rs.120 million, which was damaged in last year floods, are in final stage and after completion would open up the district for investment and will bring prosperity.

He said opponents of ANP were frightened with popularity of government and record development work. It was due to ANP led government that problems of people are being solved and people are joining in large number to fold of the nationalist party.
