Power shortfall forces DISCOs to carry out 6-9 hour loadshedding

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) like other power distribution companies resorted to 6-9 hour load-shedding in their respective areas due to surging power shortfall to 3,300 MW.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC),the power shortfall in the country surged to 3,300 MW as the total generation on Thursday was recorded as 13,700 MW against the demand of 17,000 MW at 09:00 hours.

The hydel generation stood at 4,420 MW, Wapda Thermal 2,340 MW, Wind 55 MW and Independent power producers (IPPs) 6940 MW.
