imageISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Saturday said home work had been completed to introduce Arabic language in curricula as a compulsory subject up to matric level.

The projected would be launched from Khyber PakhtunKhaw, which would be extended to other provinces of the country phase wise.

The minister expressed these views while talking to President, International Islamic University, Dr. Ahmed Yousaf Aldarwesh here.

The minister said the step would definitely help students understand the Holy Quran.

Arabic teachers would be trained properly and a suitable stipend would also be given to them, he added.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were enjoying good and cordial relations and lauded Saudi efforts for strengthening the bilateral relations.

A stable Pakistan was essential for having an effective Muslim Ummah, adding efforts were underway to enforce peace in the country.

The government wanted to construct a Quran Complex in line with Shah Fahd Quran Complex of Saudi Arabia which would benefit promoting understanding the teaching of Holy Book, the minister said.

Dr. Ahmed Yousaf Aldarwesh lauded the efforts of the federal minister for introducing Arabic language and added all possible help would be extended to promote Arabic language in the country.

Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Dr Abdul Aziz Ibrahim alghdeer was also present in the meeting.
